Palm Candy is made from “Neera”(palm nectar/padhaneer/Thatti kallu-sweet; translucent in color, extracted from the inflorescence of various species of toddy palms). Palm Candy is rich in nutrients, and has low Glycemic Crystalline sweetener. It is rich in Iron and a good source of vitamins like B1, B2, B3, B6 & B12.
Palm jaggery is rich in vitamins and minerals and especially it is rich in vitamin B, magnesium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, zinc and calcium.
Palm jaggery has a low glycemic index compared to white sugar which has a high glycemic index of 61 and does not spike our blood sugar levels immediately.
